Tips and Tricks Before You Begin Your Acrylic Keychains

1. Acrylic can be cleaned with alcohol to ensure better adhesion.
2. If you are worried about vinyl lifting or scratching, you can place a clear Vinyl circle on top of your design.
3. Use gentle pressure to remove the acrylic film without scratching the surface.
4. Fingerprints can be left on the keychain's surface. Avoid touching it. If you do get fingerprints on the keychain, you can remove them with alcohol.

Design Space: Preparing Your Designs

1. Create a new project in designspace.To upload your project, click Upload.
2. Follow these steps to upload your SVG file.Each design will have its own layer. (Note: This was done using a different SVG-file - I have made changes to it since the tutorial was written.
3. Layers that you don't want to use can be disabled.You can modify your color settings to suit your needs. You can adjust the dimensions of your layers so that they match your blanks. Once you're done, save your work. After you are done, hit "make it". In the settings section, you can choose from premium vinyl, default pressure, or fine point blade. You can follow these instructions to make your Acrylic custom keychains

How to make keychains with Cricut - how you assemble them

Step 1: Remove the film from both sides of your acrylic blank.

Step 2: Next, use your Cricut to cut the design and back pieces. You can use your transfer tape to get as close to the design as possible.

Step 3: Line it up to your acrylic piece. Removable tape can be used to attach your blank to the surface for vinyl application.

Use a scraper/squeegee to apply the tape on your blank. Next, carefully peel away the transfer tape.

Step 4: Apply backing (the white circle). It should look something like this.

Step 5: Using your awl push the vinyl through the hole at the top. This will create a hole perfect for your keychain.
