12. Framework matrix

A framework matrix is a summary in table form of which text is coded to with codes and files.

How to create a framework matrix

  1. Choose which articles you want to include in your matrix and make each one of them into a case.
  2. Click on the articles in the "list view" to select them, right click, "Create as" > "Create as cases".
  3. In the Navigation view (the blue menu on the left), click on "Notes" and right click on "Framework Matrices" > "New Framework Matrix".

Now you define the rows and columns in your matrix. A dialog box pops up with three tabs:

Rows tab: Select you cases. Click on "Select" and choose the articles that you have made into cases.
Columns tab: Select the codes you want to include in your matrix.

Click "OK".

2. Right click in one of the empty cells on the matrix. Notice that the ribbon view (top menu) changes.
3. Click on "Auto Summarize" to automatically fill the framework with the text coded to each node.
